If you fail to make this transition, you risk losing access to Minecraft: Java Edition post-September 19th, 2023.

We have a host of thrilling updates in the pipeline, and don’t worry—the Java edition isn’t disappearing. Because of the sheer volume of Java Edition players, they’ll be moving players in batches.
To determine if your account is ready for migration, sign in to Minecraft.net or the Minecraft Launcher. You’ll receive a notification when it’s time to make the move.
How to Migrate Your Account
The only authorized platform to initiate this transition is Minecraft.net, where you’ll sign in using your existing Mojang account credentials.
Post-migration, Java players can expect to enjoy several new features:

- Single account login for all PC-based Minecraft games

Stay Updated on the Moving Process
The migration process kicked off in early 2021. They will keep you updated via our blog, FAQ, videos on our YouTube channel, and direct emails.
You’ll be notified when it’s time to migrate, either when you sign into Minecraft.net or open the Minecraft Java edition launcher.
Starting this fall, they will be introducing new parental controls and the feature to block other players just like what Roblox did.

For those who don’t yet own the Java version of the game, you can simply sign in with your Microsoft account or create a new one when you purchase the game, starting today.
