- Tekken 8 Characters List
- The Big Return
- Other Confirmed Characters
The 7th King of Iron Fist is hopefully gracing our home consoles and gaming PCs soon and we’ve compiled a Tekken 8 characters list for that.
Over the years, Tekken has made its name based on a fantastic roster of unique characters along with great guest appearances from other franchises.
Tekken has also remained unique in the sense that it has maintained the full 3D fighting experience while most other franchises have either stayed on the 2.5D platform or only have had dalliances with the 3D arena concept.
With lots of new gameplay nearing the showcase time, let’s take a look at the characters in Tekken 8; the ones that have been confirmed, the ones that have been speculated and the ones that do not make the proverbial cut.
Tekken 8 Characters List
With the recent showcase at The Game Awards, showrunner and producer Katsuhiro Harada has made it a point to make every single frame of Tekken gameplay an absolute banger, sending fans into delirium.
From the explosive return of one of the most iconic characters to some series regulars, here is an overview of all Tekken 8 characters that have been confirmed to be making an appearance.
Tekken 8 Characters: The Big Return
With the extended trailer showing off the gameplay, we also got some story tidbits for the next game.
Centered around the never-ending Mishima blood feud, this game will see Jin Kazama return to the center stage, to end his father Kazuya’s bloody grip on the world of Tekken and stop this feud once and for all.
The other huge reveal was Jun Kazama. Once a series staple, Jun had slowly been phased out of the series to make way for a few new characters, and the reveal sent fans spiraling into euphoria.
Jun joins her son Jin in a bid to help his quest against his father and her estranged husband, who was once thought to kill her in the story.
Other Confirmed Tekken 8 Characters
This makes two major characters, but what about the others?
The currently confirmed cast is as such –
- Jin Kazama
- Jun Kazama
- Marshall Law
- Devil Jin
- Kazuya Mishima
- Devil Kazuya
- Jun Kazama
- Paul Phoenix
- Jack-8
- King
- Lars Alexandersson
With this list, we see a lot of staple characters return to the list. Veterans of the pro fighting circuit and the Tekken fan niche will also be happy to know that the game is coming back with the favorite meta picks for the 2023 installment as well.
Although we might not see a normal version of Jin, that is highly unlikely since he is the game’s protagonist after all.
What the dynamic with his mother Jun will be when you bring the Devil gene into the mix will probably also be a nice little twist to figure out.
Alongside the characters, we also saw a difference in several fighters’ evades and other countering stuff. So is the defensive and countering game in Tekken going to be shaken up? Only time will tell.
And speaking of time, there is no specific Tekken 8 release date yet. However, all signs point to a mid-2023 release. Earlier better though.
We will be covering more Tekken news in the future, so make sure to return for a full overview of the new game!
