Some missions stand out in top games.
This Starfield Sabotage Guide is for you if you’re stuck with it, if you want to complete it in full stealth, or if you’re encountering the Sabotage bug.
Spoilers ahead in case you’re yet to make it that far.
Starfield Sabotage Mission
You need to complete ‘The Key Ingredient’ mission first before getting to Sabotage. Both these missions are on the Ryujin Industries questline and these are arguably the best missions in Starfield.
Part of why I loved Starfield is that it doesn’t have the know-it-all map. What’s the point of an RPG if you know where to go?
That’s part of why everyone’s on about Sabotage. Another reason is that this is probably the hardest mission in Starfield to get done with perfection.
I am talking about a full-blown Sabotage Stealth run which is almost impossible. Almost.
Sabotage Guide and Walkthrough
- Find Dalton and Attend the Meeting
- Talk to Veena to Acquire Neuroamp and Start the Operation
- Complete the Operation and Go to the Observation Deck
- Use Manipulation on Demarcus
- Make Demarcus take the Keys and Open the Door
- Meet Veena and take her with Demarcus to Masako’s office
This is where you get to choose between sneaking into Infinity via the maintenance vault on the roof or you can take the fake ID and go in straight through the front door.
I’ll take sneaking in as Option A and faking it as Option B.
Let’s get to the walkthroughs.
Option A: Starfield Sabotage Stealth Walkthrough
Part I
Hit the roof entry. Make sure you have the Operative suit on. You’ll get it from Masako.
Once you’re in, you need to sabotage the building heating system. This will make all personnel other than security exit the building. It’ll also release gas across the building and put the guards on high alert. You can use the gas for stealth, but you’ll need to have Stealth skills.
Now you need to make your way to the R&D department.
Double down to Marketing and then another half a flight. Check left and jump down right on the roof of the labs. You’ll find a vent to open. This will give you access to the lower floors via the elevator shaft.
Now push through the hallway. There’ll be a guard but you can time it right to make it left back into the vent and finally down the hatch straight into the research lab.
Part II
Make your way to Dr. Faye’s cabin. You’ll need to time it again and use her desk for cover. While at it, access her desktop and use the slate you got from Dalton after you chose Option A (or B).
You can optionally hack Faye’s desktop for some credits and items as well but that’s not part of the mission!
Get out of the cabin using the orange door. Make your way to the busy researchers. Access the floor above it using the containers. Find the empty computer terminal to disable security protocols and activate security robots. These robots will now turn against Infinity employees.
While the robots do their work, you need to cut through the access door. Use the hatch to access the secure lab. First thing when you drop into the lab – hack the system to disable the neuroamp prototype alarm before you take it.
The hard part’s done and now plot your exit. Make your way back to the roof. Before that make sure to turn off the heating system again or you’ll find the fan rolling in the vent and there’s no way through that. Or you can alternatively use the neuroamp to manipulate the guard stationed there to turn it off. Exit.
The hard part’s done. Make your way to SSNN, New Atlantis. You can fast travel now. Find David in the lobby and give him the program slate that you used for Dr. Faye’s computer. That’s the evidence right there against Infinity.
Next, head over to Ryujin and find Masako to return the prototype and complete Sabotage in stealth mode.
Option B: Sabotage Non-Stealth Walkthrough
Use the fake ID to enter Infinity right through the lobby. Approach the receptionist and use persuasion to set up a meeting. She will take you up all the way to marketing. Wait for her to leave and pick up from where you left in Option A.
You can choose to kill all guards as and when they approach. Also make sure to have a companion with you. They’ll pose as guards at the right time. Bethesda.
I will suggest heading over to the security room to turn the robots on the guards and make things easier in higher difficulty.

How to Fix the Sabotage Bug
The Sabotage bug puts David outside the Starfield map right when you need to deliver the program slate as evidence against Infinity.
There are 2 ways about –
- Press ~ for console commands and input – 00014E4F.moveto player.
- Pre-save game progress and retry.
The problem with using console commands is the chance that you might not get the achievements and that can be a harsh one to take in after all that. So, better to use save game as the workaround!
