Alongside its freshly unveiled six-hour Splinter Cell co-op campaign, Splinter Cell Conviction also includes many standalone challenge modes.
These will currently be referred to as Third Echelon Missions and will be spread across a variety of six maps. These are based upon four levels seen within the co-operative campaign, and two that will be exclusive to the mode.
At the time of writing, four modes have currently been confirmed;
- Hunter – Clear the map of enemies,
- Infiltration – Clear the map of enemies, without being detected,
- Last Stand – Protect an EMP warhead from waves of enemies,
- Face-Off – Two players go head-to-head, including a number of customizable AI enemies spread throughout the map.
Both these announced additions to the game will be entirely welcome amongst fans, and we’ll be looking forward to seeing them in action as the release of the title draws closer. Splinter Cell Conviction will launch for Xbox 360 and PC, on 23rd February 2010.
