Play Roblox in Virtual Reality via Meta Quest VR Headsets

Roblox, the popular social metaverse platform, has launched its open beta version on Meta’s Quest VR headsets.

The announcement was made earlier in July by Roblox and Meta, and now users can experience it firsthand.

How to Access Roblox on Meta Quest

To explore Roblox experiences on your Quest, you can download the app from the Quest Store. Technically, it’s available through Meta’s App Lab. Once the app is installed on your headset, you can log in to your Roblox account and start exploring.

However, it’s important to note that you cannot create a Roblox account on Quest at this stage, as per a post on the Roblox developer forum.

Beta Version Limitations

Since the app is still in its beta phase, Roblox and Meta have launched this version to provide developers with an opportunity to test and optimize their experiences for VR.

Consequently, there are a few issues that Roblox is actively addressing. For instance, the purchase of Robux is not yet possible, recommended experiences are not provided, and users might encounter distorted graphics.

Compatibility with Quest Devices

The Roblox open beta is compatible with Quest 2 and Quest Pro devices. Furthermore, Meta has confirmed that Roblox will also be compatible with the upcoming Quest 3 headset once it becomes available.

Hopefully, Sony will also take the initiative in making it possible with their PS5 VR on the line.
