An informant suggests that Atlus’ Persona 6 is indeed under development and provides an estimated release timeframe.
Leaked Release Window
An informant with a track record of leaking Atlus games has suggested that the release window for Persona 6 will be within the next three years.
The existence of Persona 6 has been a topic of speculation for some time, with rumors intensifying during the series’ 25th-anniversary celebration. However, over the past few years, there has been little solid evidence to confirm its existence, with various leaks and rumors making it challenging to discern fact from fiction.
Meanwhile, fans have been treated to a variety of spin-off titles and media, with additional leaks hinting at a tactics-focused RPG known as Persona 5 Tactica and Persona 3 Reload, a remake of the series’ third mainline game.
Previous Leaks and New Titles
These two Persona titles were leaked twice before their official announcement, both appearing ahead of their likely showcase during the Xbox Showcase.
Prior to their leak, these titles were hinted at via a set of URL domains, with a leaker also suggesting that the Persona 3 remake would carry a new subtitle, “Reload.” This was later confirmed when the aforementioned leaks occurred, verifying that the remake was indeed titled Persona 3 Reload.
This same leaker has now come forward with new information, specifically regarding the development and release of Persona 6.
Development Status and Release Strategy
The leaker, a Japanese user known as MbKKssTBhz5 on Twitter, has been closely following the development of Persona games at Atlus. They recently claimed that the game’s release is still some way off, as the company is focusing on expanding the franchise globally in various ways. They suggest that once a global audience has been established, Atlus plans to release Persona 6 within the next three years.
The leaker asserts that the Atlus team is diligently working on this upcoming game and encourages fans to offer their support. They also claim that development is progressing smoothly at Atlus, and the company plans to release its spin-off projects to a broad audience, promising to reveal more information as they learn more.
In addition to Persona 6, the leaker disclosed more details about Persona 5 Tactica and a new Persona crossover game that will feature characters from the first five games.
Details on the Crossover Game
According to the leaker, this crossover, codenamed “Asa,” is intended to be a grand tribute to the series’ history, with a projected release window of Q3 2024. The game is said to include cooperative elements and activities and will feature every main character from the Persona series to date.
The aforementioned Persona 5 Tactica RPG is also expected to include more characters from the P5 games, which could mean that auxiliary Phantom Thieves Akechi and Yoshizawa will also be potential party members.
However, these are all speculations at this point, and despite the leaker’s previous accuracy, this information could be incorrect. Therefore, fans should take this information with a grain of salt.
