The opening of tonight’s Spike TV Video Game Awards ‘09 begun with a huge present plonked in the middle of the stage before it was blasted open with two guys running into the audience and blasting them with. During this time Mark Hamill performed a voiceover ‘Joker style’ as the show geared up to unveil its first world exclusive title.
From what had come previously, it could’ve been predicted that something Batman related would follow – although I doubt anyone was expecting what was to be shown. Following its huge success this year, it would seem that Rocksteady Studios are already hard at work on the follow-up to Batman: Arkham Asylum, and while the title of the game wasn’t announced, we were treated to a CG cutscene showing the back streets of Gotham hit by crime before moving into a building that housed both Joker and Harley Quinn.
Afterward, it was stated that you can head to arkhamhasmoved.com for more information, which has just gone live.
Excited? We are!
Update: For those with a keen eye, when you’re on the new site – check out the character pointing and wielding a gun. Notice anything you recognize?
The gun-wielding hand looks disfigured for us – could this be early confirmation that Two-Face will appear in the new Batman title? We’d be hoping that those that weren’t in Arkham would be included – Penguin, Catwoman etc., but we’ll have to wait and see!
