Get ready to dive into the captivating universe of Minecraft—Minecraft Legends, the latest spin-off, launches this week. If you’re considering pre-ordering a copy, act swiftly—time is ticking away.
But don’t fret if you miss the pre-order window; starting April 18, the game will be available for purchase on your preferred platform.
Minecraft Legends Pricing and Editions
Minecraft Legends, unfortunately, won’t be free to play. Mojang’s newest creation will set you back $39.99 for the Standard Edition—unless you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, in which case, you can download it as part of your monthly subscription. Interestingly, there’s also a Deluxe Edition available for $49.99, and both editions are priced lower than most standard video games.
Standard Edition: The Base Game
The Standard Edition offers the core Minecraft Legends experience, providing everything you need to embark on your next Minecraft adventure—no additional content included.
Deluxe Edition: Extra Perks and Content
If you’re craving a more immersive experience, consider the Deluxe Edition. This version includes the base game, the CreatFor Pack, Starter Pack, and a 14-day free trial of Xbox Game Pass. With the Deluxe Skin pack, you’ll receive one skin, four mount skins, and an additional mount skin when it becomes available.
Typically, the Deluxe Skin pack retails for $14.99 on its own. By opting for the Deluxe Edition, you’ll save $5 in the long run. The perks don’t end there, though.
Deluxe Edition Benefits: More than Just Skins
The Minecraft Legends Deluxe Edition also includes a Starter Pack with 700 Minecoins, a Villains skin pack, and a Heroes skin pack. To sweeten the deal, you’ll receive a 14-day free trial for Xbox Game Pass, granting access to an extensive library of Xbox games. If you’re not already a subscriber, this trial may hook you into their service for good—once you experience the Xbox Game Pass, it’s tough to let go.
Mojang’s decision to make Minecraft Legends a day-one release on the Xbox Game Pass was a savvy marketing move, as it encourages more gamers to sign up and, subsequently, download their game.
Choosing Your Minecraft Legends Edition
If you value added cosmetics and character customization options, the Deluxe Edition of Minecraft Legends, priced at $49.99, maybe a perfect choice. However, if the Deluxe Edition’s extras don’t entice you, the $39.99 Standard Edition should suffice.
To decide whether the Deluxe Edition is worth it, simply ask yourself: Do I want the Creator Pack in my collection? If the answer is yes, go for the Deluxe Edition; if not, the Standard Edition is your best bet.
