The official title of the Minecraft 1.20 update has been revealed, and it’s Trails & Tales!
It’s one of the most anticipated moments of the year, and it’s set to take players on a journey of discovery through the world of Minecraft. This update is all about self-expression, as players experiment with the world to create their own unique stories and build their own worlds.
What’s coming to Minecraft 1.20?
According to Agnes Larsson, the game director, “The 1.20 update is all about self-expression, specifically self-expression through representation, storytelling, and world-building. And, it’s the journey – your trails – that ties it all together. The Minecraft worlds belong to the players – and so do the stories, or tales, about those worlds.”
New worlds to explore
While we still don’t have a specific release date for the Minecraft 1.20 update, we now have a sneak peek into what it will entail. One of the standout features is the addition of archeology, which promises to add a greater sense of mystery to survival worlds. A new type of sand that can be brushed away will reveal secrets like pottery shards, tools, and bones.
New creatures and elements
And that’s not all – there’s a brand new creature called the sniffer. These creatures have a unique mechanic where they can track down seeds for you if you incubate and tame them. These seeds can be used to make special ornamental plants, adding a new level of creativity to the game.
In addition to new creatures and mechanics, the Minecraft 1.20 update is also bringing a new biome to the game: cherry blossoms. When the trees decay, you’ll receive a new type of wood that you can use to build related objects, such as cherry tree saplings and hanging banners.
And if you’re in need of some transportation, look no further than the camel. These desert dwellers will allow two characters to ride on their backs simultaneously, making it easier to navigate the vast terrain of Minecraft.
Plus, the crafting table is expanding with a variety of objects based on bamboo, one of the materials most in demand by the community.
With so many things to explore in Minecraft 1.20, there’s only one thing left to do: get good at Minecraft! I know, because you’re going to be needing our guides from now on.
