With every single state-of-play change that Fortnite comes up with, there is always something crazy or out-of-the-ordinary that fans and critics will come across. Epic Games aren’t shy about making a competitive shooter quirky, and their best efforts might well pay off this time around too.
So, here is a brief introduction to Fortnite Chapter 4. What’s new? What remains? What’s changed?
Let’s find out!
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1
So the trailer for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 dropped a while, and so did our jaws.
The game teased us with so much, from a newly-redesigned world built from the ground up using Unreal Engine 5, with fantastic visuals and cityscapes to marvel at.
And with the who’s who of the gaming and otherwise entertainment world all lining up to be playable Fortnite characters, we saw the reveal of an old fan-favorite, Doomguy.
Along with that, we also got Deku from My Hero Academia and Geralt from the Witcher series. Can you actually believe that? Geralt!
Ahem, anyway, so now that the dust has settled and we have had time to review whatever the game has to offer in Chapter 4 Season 1, what do we think?
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 Is As Good As Ever
The visuals do perfect justice to the promise of the visceral fun to be had in Fortnite. Everything from the textures to the lighting to even the bushes is redesigned to show off the power and potential of Unreal Engine 5.
And even though there isn’t a lot of change to the gunplay and overall feel of the game, it is not like the game was crying for a complete overhaul to the mechanics. The gunplay in Fortnite remains fun and challenging at the same time and the world design keeps the building part interesting.
A New Locale
Yes, we also get a new map to play around in. With Season 3 events and Fracture, we got an island as the newest geographical addition to Fortnite.
Along with the new points of interest in The Citadel, Anvil Square, Brutal Bastion, and Frenzy Fields, we also get a new collectible mineral called the Kinetic Ore. You can perform more weaponless moves with this one.
One of the other big additions is a dirt bike. Yes, a literal dirt bike, because why not?
Like we said, Epic Games have truly opened the floodgates and allowed all kinds of insane antics to be performed in Fortnite, including stunts on the Trail Thrasher, the new dirt bike that we will get.
This, along with a slew of weapons such as the Ex-Caliber Rifle and the Maven shotgun, as well as abilities like the Shockwave Hammer have made the gameplay genuinely more fun and interesting with every new encounter.
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2
