ROCKFISH Games announced the release date for Everspace 2, the successor to their acclaimed science fiction roguelike!
After two years in Steam’s Early Access program, the PC game is finally available to the public.
The completion of a game from Early Access is a cause for celebration, as many games get stuck in that part.
Everspace 2’s Early Access
The creator of Everspace 2 used the money from early adopters through Steam’s Early Access to improve the game’s development. Other successful games, such as Ark: Survival Evolved, DayZ, and Kerbal Space Program, also found success through the program. ROCKFISH Games successfully navigated Early Access with transparent road mapping for Everspace 2.

The game’s official release clip doubles as a story trailer, giving potential players a preview of what to expect when Everspace 2 leaves Early Access on April 6, 2023 — the official release date.
Furthermore, Everspace 2 entered Early Access in January 2021 and has received regular upgrades.
The statement also announced the game’s plans for console releases, with versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S scheduled for a preliminary release in Summer 2023 due to the game’s demanding system requirements.
Deals before the Everspace 2 release date
When the public finally got access to Everspace 2, players reacted with mixed emotions.
On February 20, ROCKFISH Games will raise the price of the game from $39.99 to $49.99 as it becomes a more complete offering.
The creator stated that the game will not receive a discount before that date, so it’s your last chance to get Everspace 2 at a lower price.
Moreover, the developer attributed the price increase to the additional funding they received through Xbox Game Pass for Everspace 2, which allowed them to make a more substantial product and justify the higher retail price.
Now that Everspace 2 is nearing its final release, it is unknown how long ROCKFISH Games plans to provide post-launch support for the game.
The developer has stated that they intend to release a substantial paid DLC at some point in the future, though fans may expect more information once the game leaves Steam Early Access.
