EA Sports FC 24: A New Era Begins

I’ve been playing FIFA since I don’t remember when. It’s hard to imagine a year without a FIFA release. There will be no FIFA this year or even the year after. The result is EA Sports FC 24, from the same developer.

This is not the new FIFA. Instead, FC 24 from EA Sports is a conglomeration of almost all major club leagues from the same EA Sports. So, it’s gotta be good.

Why is FIFA 24 called EA Sports FC 24?

FIFA 24 is not EA Sports FC 24. There is no FIFA 24. FIFA, Fédération Internationale de Football Association, has parted ways with EA Sports. So, EA Sports will not create a new ‘FIFA,’ and we won’t get a FIFA 24. But EA Sports has gone ahead to rebrand what would have been FIFA 24 as EA Sports FC 24.

EA Sports FC 24 Release Date and Early Access

FC 24, that’s what we’re going to call instead of FIFA 24.

Official release was slated for 29^th September 2023.

Pre-order before that to get a 7-day Early Access starting September 22^nd at midnight.

Will EA Sports FC 24 be Free to Play?

EA Sports FC 24 will not be free-to-play just like all other previous EA Sports FIFA games. It is a purchase-only game with an in-game shop. But you can technically play FC 24 for free if you have an EA Play Pro subscription.

EA Sports FC 24 Editions and Pricing

There are 2 editions – Standard and Ultimate. The Standard Edition simply comes with the game and is $69.99.

The Ultimate Edition adds $30 to the tag but it comes with a lot more, especially if you preorder it.

Will EA Sports FC 24 be on EA Play?

No and Yes. EA Sports FC 24 will be available on EA Play for 10 hours for gamers to try it out. But to play EA Sports FC 24, you need to get or upgrade to EA Play Pro, which can be the best thing you can do to play EA Sports FC 24.

Get the EA Play Pro subscription to access all Ultimate Edition benefits. If you have the subscription up and running before 28^th September, you can enjoy the preorder bonuses as well.

EA Play Pro is $14.99 a month. You can get Ultimate Edition for a month as well as access to all other listed and available EA titles (including EA Games). But this is PC exclusive. Another small thing – instead of 4600 FC points up front, you’ll get 1600 points a month for 3 months.

Is EA Sports FC 24 FIFA 24?

No. There is no FIFA 24. EA Sports and FIFA are not partnering for it to happen. So, EA Sports has gone ahead to create FC 24. If their agreement continued, FC 24 would have been FIFA 24. FC 24 does not include some leagues, clubs, venues, and any international football although it still includes 95% of all club football thanks to EA’s partner and license agreements. Clubs and venues not in EA Sports FC 24 include Inter Milan, AC Milan, Arsenal, Nou Camp, among others. There’s no Brazilian league as well. But FC 24 will have almost everything else including a stronger representation of female footballers and teams.

Is EA Sports FC 24 worth it?

EA Sports FC 24 is FIFA 24 without FIFA, international football and some leagues, players, fixtures, venues, etc. But it is next gen for gamers, bringing in a lot of new gameplay features, modes, realism, and more. The Standard Edition is $69.99, $10 more than FIFA 23 while the Ultimate Edition is $99.99, the same as before. Considering the upgrades, EA Sports FC 24 is surely worth it even if it does not have international football tournaments, the Brazilian League, and some venues.

EA Sports FC 24 could well have been FIFA 24 if EA Sports agreed with FIFA’s terms but that did not happen. Instead, we have in our hands the most advanced game system yet to play football. I will play FC 24 and if you’re a FIFA gamer, you should too!
