In an unexpected turn of events, Diablo 4 has kicked off a promotional campaign with fast-food chain KFC, featuring special in-game cosmetics.
While neither Blizzard nor KFC made an official announcement prior to the promotion, it appears to be underway at various KFC locations.
Earlier leaks had hinted at a second collaboration between KFC and Diablo 4, scheduled for the game’s launch.
Although there was no formal confirmation, an internal email referencing in-game cosmetics tied to KFC purchases, as well as models for poultry-themed weapons in Diablo 4, were discovered.
Diablo 4 KFC Collab is Live
Now, it appears that the Diablo 4 promotion is live at KFC locations across the US. KFC’s website added a new landing page on May 29, officially announcing the collaboration with Diablo 4. Many KFC restaurants have started using special Diablo 4 cups and sandwich wrappers. According to the website, players can sync their Battle.net accounts to unlock rewards starting from May 30.
Additionally, digitally purchased sandwiches through the KFC app or website will count as qualifying purchases. To unlock all five Diablo 4 weapons from KFC, players would need to spend around $25, considering the cheapest sandwiches are priced at approximately $5.
Fans Struggling With Errors
Interestingly, neither Diablo 4 nor KFC made any announcements about this collaboration elsewhere. Many Diablo 4 fans have confirmed the promotion’s existence but have been unable to figure out how to obtain codes from valid purchases. Reports suggest that even some KFC staff members are unsure about the workings of the promotion.
However, some fans have managed to acquire codes. Diablo 4 content creator Aodan has obtained codes and is offering assistance to other players. Hopefully, KFC and Diablo 4 will resolve the issues surrounding this promotion soon, allowing participating players to access all the cosmetics available from this crossover.
More In-Game Cosmetics
For players seeking additional bonus cosmetics, there is an opportunity to obtain Diablo 4 weapons and back pieces as Twitch drops. Following the game’s full release, players can earn cosmetics for each of the five classes by watching six hours of Diablo 4 on Twitch every week for a month.
Furthermore, gifting subscriptions during this period can earn players an exclusive mount. Assuming the code redemption for the KFC promotion proceeds smoothly, players should be able to utilize all these special cosmetics with Diablo 4’s comprehensive transmog system.
