D’Arcy Myers, an accomplished executive with a rich history in non-profit management, has recently taken the helm as CEO of GamCare. With over 12 years of experience as a charity CEO, D’Arcy brings to GamCare a wealth of knowledge in strategic development and change management.
A Solid Track Record
Myers has a distinguished past, having served at key positions in a variety of charities including Allergy UK, The Percy Hedley Foundation, the TV and Film charity, and The Solicitors Charity. He has been instrumental in guiding these organisations through significant periods of transformation. His significant contributions extend beyond his CEO roles; Myers is a founding member of the Small Charities Coalition, and has held esteemed positions as Chair of The Association of Charitable Organisations and The Smallwood Trust.
Expectations are high for Myers at GamCare, a crucial time for an organisation navigating a rapidly changing sector. Margot Daly, Chair of Trustees, expressed her enthusiasm about Myers’ appointment, stating, “I am delighted to welcome D’Arcy to GamCare. His wide-ranging experience will be invaluable for the organisation at a time of great change for this sector.”
New Beginnings and Future Plans
Myers echoed this sentiment, expressing his excitement about his new role. He stated, “I am excited to be joining GamCare and supporting our staff and partners in the hugely important work they do. I look forward to meeting as many staff, service users and partners as possible in the coming weeks.”
Recently, GamCare has been proactive in calling on banks to enhance gaming restrictions and increase consumer awareness. The organisation is a strong advocate for responsible gambling, and it’s clear it will continue its efforts in promoting greater understanding and support for vulnerable consumers in the industry.
GamCare has also partnered with the MMA Fan Podcast, co-hosted by Blake Harrison of The Inbetweeners fame, to further spread awareness of gambling addiction. As the organisation moves forward under Myers’ leadership, we anticipate it will continue to integrate services like Zimpler Payments, making platforms like video poker safer and more accessible for all.
GamCare has always been at the forefront of responsible gambling, and hopes are that Myers will reinforce this mission with innovative initiatives.
