New Assassin’s Creed gameplay footage has been discovered online, indicating that Ubisoft is working on a new game in the series.

Ubisoft revealed a lot of its plans for the future of its stealth-action franchise earlier this year. While Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the next new mainline installment, is scheduled for release in 2023, Ubisoft has disclosed that two more projects, dubbed “Red” and “Hexe,” are also in development. While none of these games is the source of the leaked footage, it does appear to be related to a mobile version of Assassin’s Creed.

Assassin’s Creed: Codename Jade might come sooner

An early gameplay video from the Assassin’s Creed game codenamed “Jade” has been leaked online through the social networking site Reddit. This almost three-minute clip provides a preview of Jade’s fighting and movement systems. Cutscenes and characters from the game itself are also demonstrated in this video. Overall, Jade appears to be quite similar to previous recent Assassin’s Creed games, albeit the scope of the game will undoubtedly be reduced in comparison to games like Odyssey, Origins, and Valhalla.

Leaked footage shows a Chinese-set Assassin’s Creed

Now that we know codename Jade will take place in China, despite the fact that few further specifics are currently available. In line with this, it has been rumored that Jade would have character customization options. If true, this would be an unprecedented turn in the Assassin’s Creed canon.

Ubisoft has not yet announced Jade’s release window, so it may be some time before we get any more official information on this Assassin’s Creed game. Still, this leak has occurred, so it’s possible that additional details are on the way. Who knows, it could coincide with the release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and release next year.

There are other successful game series that were leaked by a reliable insider on Twitter. For example, it is said that Naughty Dog is in the development of the third sequel to The Last of Us, and it may come sooner than expected.
