Aliens Vs Predator takes over PlayStation Home

The Aliens Vs Predator game has truly taken over the world as it continues with the infestation of PlayStation Home. For a limited time full costumes based on the three species will be available to buy. The costumes are for both genders and players can choose to buy a full costume or download a specific clothing item.

The items will cost the following;

• €2.99 a player can buy the full costume
• €1.99 for the trousers and top
• €0.99 for a Helmet or mask

Playstation Home set for new ‘Musicality’ Apartment

nDreams have today announced that Playstation Home is due to receive a new ‘Musicality’ apartment, in which players will be able to create their own virtual live performances.

Here, up to four players will be able to participate and perform music live in front of their friends, which will include taking control of an array of keyboards, drums, guitar and a DJ console. There are over 370 different loops available providing plenty of ways to play, allowing Musicality to continually offer an incredibly unique music experience.

Included within your purchase are a variety of Dance loops, with additional Rock and R&B music packs set to be available from the shop inside the space.

Patrick O’Luanaigh said, “We’re very proud of Musicality, and we believe it will be a great space to simply mess around in with friends. As well as a relaxed ‘jam’ mode, you can play competitively, with each musician trying to outscore the others. Musicality will launch initially in Europe, and we hope to bring it to North America and Japan soon afterwards.”

The apartment venue features two floors, seating areas, animated screens, a shop and a mixing desk that will allow players to play background music whilst relaxing – I think you’ll agree this is a fantastic addition to Playstation Home.

London Comes to Playstation Home

What would be the best way to bring London to Playstation Home? A pub situated on the banks of the River Thames overlooking The Houses of Parliament? Well your in luck! VEEMEE have made this possible and have released the space today in the latest Playstation Home update. The new space is priced at €4.99 and brings a whole London pub to life, filled multi-player darts game, a roaring open fire, comedy beer pumps, crank phone calls and hand dryers. VEEMEE has teamed up with Unicorn, makers of the world’s finest dartboards, and to celebrate the launch of The London Pub Unicorn will give away 30 real Eclipse® Pro Dartboards in the first 30 days to anyone who plays the multi-player darts game in the virtual pub and tops the pub darts leader board in PlayStation Home.

Update: Unfortunately the Playstation Home team have found a bug in the new London Pub and have had to pull the space. Thylaudax the SCEE Home Community Manger made a post on the Official EU Playstation Forums:

Hi all,

While in the process of checking a full fix for the purchasing problems with The London Pub today, the team have found that we will not be able to implement the fix until next Thursday’s update.

The London Pub has therefore been deactivated and removed from sale for the time being. Those who received it free will no longer have access and will need to visit Home Estates from next Thursday to buy the space. We are still investigating how best to proceed for those who already purchased the space, however we hope that the fix will restore the space automatically. We will update you all as soon as we know more.

We’d like to thank all of you who assisted us with tracking down this problem today, and apologise to all of you for any inconvenience and disappointment this issue may have caused.

Playstation Home gains ‘Home TV’

Playstation Home has received its own ‘Home TV’ channel it would seem over the festive period. Available to be viewed within the Home Theatre, this new show is hosted by Perry Flynn and provides those that enjoy running around Sony’s virtual world with all the latest news, updates and events that are coming up or have recently been released.

Also, the show allows you to email in your own Playstation Home photos and news from either your own gatherings, or from attending the parties at the occassional events that the service hosts to hometv@scee.net. If you make them aware of parties that you are hosting yourselves in advance, they may even turn up and video them so that they can be featured in an upcoming episode – exciting stuff, hey? So go get organising!

Playstation Home set to gain Pub

SCEE have today announced that VEEMEE, an independent creator of branded and original content for games platforms and virtual worlds, are set to bring their very own London Pub to Playstation Home on January 7th 2010.

Available for €4.99, this mighty fine establishment will be situated on the banks of the river Thames and overlook the Houses of Parliament. A typically British building, the London Pub personal space will include a multiplayer darts game, a roaring fire, comedy beer pumps, crank phone calls and hand dryers that don’t really dry your hands.

Over at the EU PlayStation Blog the Elves are getting everything ready to start the Christmas celebrations and it looks like its going to be fun filled festivities in HOME this year. Were told it all starts on the 10th of December with a wonderful winter wonderland and there is also a mention of presents and knowing Sony they will throw in a few surprises.

Home content revealed for Ratchet & Clank

Sony have released new details on their US Blog regarding the upcoming arrival of a Ratchet & Clank themed space within Playstation Home. It is described as being one of the most interactive environments that has been released for Home, and will feature three different mini-games to cater for all gamers.

Surely to be the most popular of these is Skunk Works’ tower defense game, which will provide Playstation 3 owners with plenty of awards to win and ’sheep to wrangle.’ Also available will be a full Ratchet costume, and a private Ratchet & Clank apartment for you to purchase and make your own.

All this is sure to satisfy even the most die-hard of fans, and becomes a welcome addition to the continually expanding Home experience.
