Whilst we’ve brought to you a new Darksiders video today already, we’d also like to reveal War’s Chaos Form to our readers. As you slice your way through the game, any enemies that you kill will release souls that you are able to capture. Whilst there are three different types of soul; one for regaining health, one that acts as currency to buy skills and upgrades and a final type that will more importantly aid you in filling your Wrath Gauge.
Once full, you can activate your Wrath Gauge transforming War into his true form. Underneath his Human apperance hides a Chaos Form – a flaming behemoth of a demon that will allow you to cause utter carnage within the game. Below, we have a screenshot of War within this form as he faces his enemy – it’s continually looking incredibly impressive!

Darksiders – Bringing the Apocalypse!
July 21, 2009 by Alex Seedhouse
It seems that 1st January 2010 will see the coming of the apocalypse, as Darksiders: Wrath of War hits Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. Developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ, this has been one game that we have firmly kept one eye on throughout it’s development.

The story revolves around War, the first Horseman of the Apocalypse, being deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world – from this, he is accused of breaking the sacred law of inciting a war between Heaven and Hell (a pretty serious allegation, don’t you think?!). The war became a slaughter, and the demonic forces defeated the heavenly hosts and laid claim to Earth itself.
Having been brought before the sacred Charred Council, War is charged for his crimes and stripped of all his powers. Completely dishonoured and facing death, War is offered the chance of returning to Earth to search for the truth and redeeming his name by punishing those responsible. Hunted by a vengeful group of Angels, War will have to take on the forces of hell, whilst also forging uneasy alliances with the very demons that he hunts, as he journeys across the ravaged remains of Earth on his quest for vengeance and vindication.
Players will have a variety of brutal attacks at their disposal, alongside supernatural abilities that will enable War to decimate all that stand in his way. A devastating arsenal of weapons will be available, including angelic, demonic and earthly types, and as well as all this, you can also blaze a trail of devastation atop your fiery red phantom steed, Ruin!
Your main weapon however will be the sword, Chaos eater. The sword is unlike any other, having been used to slaughter countless enemies – their fates foretold by the death-masks artfully etched along the massive blade. Its honed edge enables the wielder to carve through the thickest demon bone as if it were candle wax! As with most ancient arcane weapons, Chaos eater’s true power can only be unleashed by a master equal to its blood-stained legend, and luckily War is just that!
On top of weapons, War will also have Gear Items at his disposal and two of these are known so far – Crossblade and Earthcaller.
There are many profane weapons scattered upon Earth, yet few can match the speed and lethality of the Crossblade! It consists of a cluster of four blades that can be thrown with brutal force. Once the weapon arcs deep into flesh, it returns to is wielder’s hand, ready to be thrown once more. If that weren’t enough, the weapon also carries a hidden malevolent secret. This is that it may absorb the properties of certain elements that it passes through, such as fire and plague, and transfer them into further mutilation!

As for the Earthcaller, even when silent its physical appearance seems to be screaming. Its mouth has been carved to resemble two demon faces twisted with rage, and the horn is a powerful artifact – able to channel fury into raw sonic power.
The game also allows for Character Progression with the ability of being able to upgrade your weapons, customize your gameplay style, and new abilities will be able to be unlocked.
Fresh off the press is this newly released ‘Hero‘ trailer, check it out and let us know what you think!
