News has surfaced today that Masashi Hamauzu, who most recently has composed the music for Final Fantasy XIII, has left Square Enix. Such announcement follows a number of departures from the company’s sound team, including both Kenichiro Fukui and Junya Nakano, with others being expected to leave from the remaining four composers over the next few months.
Hamauzu has spent 15 years with Square Enix, in which time he worked on titles such as SaGa Frontier II, Unlimited SaGa, Final Fantasy X, Musashi: Samurai Legend, Dirge of Cerberus, and Sigma Harmonics.
His most recent work for Final Fantasy XIII is sure to be his biggest accomplishment, as it has already been subject to acclaimed reviews. The official soundtrack of the title is set to release on January 27th, which i’ve already pre-ordered, although he is making adjustments towards the International version of the game being released on March 9th across Europe and North America.
