Split/Second drifts by new footage

Split/Second, an action-racing title currently in development by Black Rock Studio, was one of a few highlights for me at the recent Eurogamer Expo. Its premise is simple, players are set to take part in a fictional reality TV programme in which participants race for money and glory.

The game takes things to another level, as throughout races players will be able to build up their ‘powerplay’ meter by performing stunts and some nifty driving skills such as passing close to objects and drifting. As the meter builds up, you will then be able to trigger special events allowing for you to create other obstacles for enemy drivers, create shortcuts for yourself, or entirely alter the track.

Split Second is due to be released in 2010, across PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.
