Capcom has updated the official Super Street Fighter IV site with a whole host of new information regarding the upcoming title, and we’re fortunate that Community Member Jigsaw has translated it from Japanese into English on his blog so that we can understand just how much has been revealed. The official site has also received an update within its Character pages that now feature new voice clips recorded for SSFIV for all of the 25 returning characters.

The major announcements are three new online modes which are as follows…

- Endless Battle; which allows you to create a room for up to eight players in which you are able to continually fight against each other. This mode encompasses a winner stays on rule, so the loser will be sent to the back of the line to await their next turn – those not currently fighting can spectate and chat to those within the room via voice chat.

- Team Battle; that enables four to eight players to join a single room and once ready, players are divided into two teams based upon their Player Points. This allows the teams to be as even as possible, so if you find that you have a lower score than the others you won’t be at an immediate disadvantage. What will allow the mode to be even more interesting however, is that the teams don’t have to be even numbers – it could be 7 vs 1 if you want!

- Replay Channel; which does exactly what it says on the tin. Here you’ll be able to navigate channels that categorise each replay too, and allows you to not only watch your best performances but also those of other players from around the world.

- Bonus Stages; making a return having been sorely missed by many fans, these will be appear within Arcade Mode and once cleared will be available under a new Bonus Stage section within the Challenge Mode menu. You’ll get to bash a car to bits, destroy barrels before they get too close to you… etc etc. I’m pretty sure I remember these from my days of playing Street Fighter II endlessly on the Amiga with a Joystick… *reminisces*

Also, after the game goes on sale, Capcom will be releasing a Tournament Mode as downloadable content.

To quote from Jigsaw’s Blog,

Tournament Mode has six main points, namely the following:

1. Recruit up to 8 players and hold your own tournaments!
2. Spectate the other players’ matches!
3. Voice chat! (with 9 people, including the tournament organizer)
4. Save replays, even from matches where you were only a spectator!
5. Visual tournament brackets and results!
6. Award tournament winners with unique titles!
