With the Ashes series now in full swing, Codemasters is limbering up for the launch of the officially licensed Ashes Cricket 2009 – with an open invitation to the public to meet Australian cricket legend, Shane Warne. Recognised worldwide as the greatest exponent of leg-spin bowling in the history of the game, ‘Warnie’ will be out of retirement for one day only, fielding questions from the public on Tuesday 28th July, 1:00pm at HMV’s flagship store on London’s Oxford Street.
Fans pre-ordering a copy of Ashes Cricket 2009 on the day will receive an exclusive, limited edition photo of Shane in action and are invited to an autograph signing session.
Gamers are also invited to submit questions for the “Afternoon With Shane Warne” Q&A hosted live on HMV’s main stage. Finally, one lucky winner will also get the chance to play against the greatest spin bowler of all time on the Wii version of Ashes Cricket 2009 in front of the crowds.
Due for release on the 7th August, Codemasters’ Ashes Cricket 2009 provides the most authentic Ashes experience possible without having to don your whites. Delivering all the exciting, athletic, skilful and technical elements of the sport, the game’s comprehensive ‘Ashes’ mode features all five test venues, including the home of cricket, Lords, where England claimed their historic victory over the Australians for the first time in 78 years.
